ADVICE aiming to help patients stay safe over the Winter is being issued by NHS Derbyshire. Health bosses are reminding patients to call their usual surgery number if they need to speak to a GP when their surgery is closed over the holiday period. They will then be directed to the out-of-hours service.

Patients are also being encouraged to think ahead and ensure they have any repeat prescriptions they need by calling into their local surgery or pharmacy in good time. Most practices need at least 48 hours to process a repeat prescription request.
