The Case For AAASP
A business case for an abdominal aortic aneurysm screening programme (AAASP) for Derbyshire was submitted to the NHSAAASP at the end of July 2011. The business case was approved with a commencement date of the 1 April 2012. The AAASP is a national screening programme which involves an ultrasound scan of the abdominal aorta in men aged 65. It will be a phased rollout, starting off with screening centres at Derby and Chesterfield and then gradually moving into community health centres. Letters will be sent to all practices explaining the service over the coming weeks together with contact details. Click here for more info | Screening Programme
